About a month ago we discovered a leak in the basement.  The plumber came in to look at it and discovered that the leak was on the city side of the valve, and that the village would have to turn off the water so the leak could be fixed.  Well, the guy came from the village and couldn't get the water to the house shut off, so after messing around with it for about 3 weeks, he finally attached a rubber ring to the outside of the pipe to drastically slow the leak.  that is working, but the village crew came by this morning to see if they could get that main water valve to work.  Well, they finally got the water off, however, now they cant get it back on again.  They actually broke the vavle so we are without water until at least tomorrow morning. ugh, you'd think they's at least cover a motel for the night.  I want to take a bath.
